Program Calendar

The Wellness Center offers a variety of activities including: Yoga, meditation/stress management, Reiki, massage therapy, bellydancing, African dance, tai chi and energy healing. Take a look at our weekly schedule to see what is being offered today. Most of these activities are open to the public and are free of charge.

MONDAY
African Dance
Time: 6 - 7 p.m.
Location: Bogue Movement Studio
Facilitator: Shelby Jones
Shelby Jones of Studio Bliss in Rutland, Vt. leads a high energy African Dance class suitable for beginners and more experienced dancers. BEGINS FEBRUARY 1.

Belly Dancing
Time: 7 - 8 p.m.
Location: Bogue Movement Studio
Facilitator: Alicia Malay
Belly dancing is a dynamic and diverse art form incorporating a wide array of styles and movements from the folk, social and classical traditions of numerous Middle Eastern cultures. BEGINS FEBRUARY 1.

Laughter Yoga
Time: 8 - 9 p.m.
Location: Bogue Movement Studio
Facilitator: Nikki Pfieffer
Laughter Yoga combines unconditional laughter with Yogic breathing. Laughter is simulated as a body exercise in a group. The concept of Laughter Yoga is based on a scientific fact that the body cannot differentiate between fake and real laughter. One gets the same physiological and psychological benefits, which include: better mood, increased energy, abdominal workout, and more.

TUESDAY
Shakti Tribal Dance - Practice
Time: 4 - 6 p.m.
Location: Bogue Movement Studio
Bogue Movement Studio hosts a two-hour practice session for Shakti Tribal Dance students.

WEDNESDAY
Massage Therapy & Reflexology
Time: 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Massage therapist Darya McNolty offers massage & reflexology sessions. Massage aids in decreasing anxiety, enhancing sleep quality, improving energy level and concentration and reducing fatigue.

Women's Yoga
Time: 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Location: Bogue Movement Studio

This is a yoga session specifically for women. Yoga is an ancient practice that uses special positions and breath control to stretch and tone the body, improve circulation, calm the central nervous system and induce a meditative and all embracing state of being.

Shakti Tribal Dance (advanced)
Time: 6:30 - 7:45 p.m.

Ecofeminist in spirit, this class is inspired by many forms of belly dance and Goddess spirituality, as well as Eastern and Existential philosophies. Course content includes yoga-style stretching, belly dance movements and guided meditations.

Zazen Meditation
Time: 7 - 8 p.m.
Location: Chapel
Facilitator: Andrew Serow
The purpose of Zazen is to bring an end to emotional and mental suffering. The only prior practice or knowledge needed to attend these sittings is that you must be breathing. And because all humans are breathing, all humans are able to practice Zazen! At the beginning of every session there will be a brief instruction on how to properly practice Zazen.

Tai Chi
Time: 5:15 - 6 p.m.

Tai Chi is a gentle type of martial art based on balancing the opposing energies of Yin and Yang. Participants develop balance and flexibility while bringing the mind, body and spirit into greater harmony.

Fitness Consulting and Fitness Training

John offers weight management & lifestyle consulting, fitness planning/coaching, individual training, small group training, athletic team training. The cost is $20 for students and $25 for staff. Call the Wellness Center at 802-342-3334 to schedule an appointment.

Energy Healing
Location: Wellness Center
Facilitator: Beth Miller
Energy healing is a holistic, humanistic and gentle approach to healing which works with the human energy field and hands-on healing to balance, charge, clear, and repair the energy field to help restore health on all levels.
