Frequently Asked Questions

What is housing like?
The Lodge at Killington has full food service, laundry and recreation room facilities. There is a full-time campus life resident director as well as two managers on duty living at the property. Resort and hospitality management students live at the Lodge for the first two years of the program. Third-year (senior) and transfer students have the option of petitioning to live in an independent arrangement.

Is there transportation available?
The College provides a shuttle bus to take students to the Poultney campus whenever there are classes held on the main campus (Monday and Thursday of fall term), or when a group of students wishes to attend a specific activity. This is contingent on a minimum number of students utilizing the service. Students this year have chosen not to have transportation provided for them. The students are taking turns driving down to the main campus which works out well for everyone.

Do I receive a Killington Ski Pass & other privileges?
When the student is an employee of Killington/Pico Ski Resort, the student will receive all the rights and privileges of a Killington employee, including ski passes, discounts, etc.

The student will receive those rights and privileges only when that student actually begins to work for the resort. No ski passes will be issued until such time as the student begins his/her co-op rotation or becomes a Killington employee. Hospitality management students will receive all employee rights and privileges of their co-op properties as well.

How big are the class sizes?
Class sizes are relatively small (12-20). Part of this restriction is designed to enable the program to maintain its unique educational partnership with the Killington Resort and surrounding hospitality properties.

What is my scheduling like?
The resort management program is a three-year baccalaureate program. Since courses are specifically designed and offered for the resort management students, the students will be scheduled in "lock step" throughout the program.
